Dream “Forgotten Happiness” March 2016
It’s dusk/twilight, I can see but not really. Everything is shadowy.
I’m driving my car with my mom, daughter and husband as passengers in the car.
We were driving on a switchback road. It’s pretty up here, we can see everything. We are at the top, past the part that makes me sick.
On my right I see shooting stars coming up from the earth. Three come up really fast.
Then I look around and realize that this is happening everywhere, they are happening all over, leaving the earth, these are people leaving!
On side roads cars are all lined up, “We’re being invaded!” Bright rainbow lights are everywhere.
We all know we are being invaded.
Next scene: I’m in a yard with a dull old red tricycle beside me. No one else is there. The day seems normal. It’s only me in the yard, the grass is yellow. There are not a lot of survivors.
When I was in the yard, I knew I had lost something. That part is gone now, I can never get it back.
Please note that the meanings of the symbols were given by the dreamer. Symbols mean different things to people. This happens because of unique life experiences. No two lives are the same. When interpreting a dream always remember to let the dreamer reveal their symbol meanings.
Dusk/twilight: almost night, peaceful time
My car: transportation, mine – a way to travel
Daughter: happy place, joy, wonderful feeling, my baby, goodness, love
Husband: irritating, frustrating
Switchbacks: a place where when I drive on them I get very nauseated, sick
Shooting stars: bright fast lights – I learn that these are people
Three: just the right amount, not to many not too few
People: unfamiliar, didn’t recognize any of them (males and females)
Rainbow: pretty reflection after a storm
Lights: a device or way to see things better
Invaded: taken over, pushed out
Yard: part of home, safety, boundaries
Old red tricycle: dull, old, forgotten toy, weathered, left behind, forgotten happiness
Grass: cool when healthy and alive, this grass was dead, nor more life to it, yellow. In a place where the yard is, a place of boundaries.
Survivor: strong person, me
Dream Interpretation with symbols replaced by their meanings:
It’s a peaceful time (dusk/twilight), I can see, but not really. Everything is shadowy.
I’m in control traveling on my path (driving my car means that whenever the dreamer is driving they are usually in control of their life path, unless the driving is reckless or out of control in the dream. The car is important. To this dreamer it’s HER car, or “mine” as she mentions in her symbol meaning) feeling comfortable (mom represents closely related feelings and emotions), feeling happy, joyful, goodness and love, (daughter represents closely related feelings and emotions the dreamer has created) but at the same time experiencing actions and ideas of irritation and frustration (husband-actions and ideas the dreamer has embraced, made a connection with, married-joined to) with what is mine or in my control (car).
We were driving on a path that makes me sick (switchbacks). We are at the top past the part that makes me sick and it’s pretty up here. We can see everything.
On my right I see a bright fast light (shooting stars) coming up from home (earth). Just the right amount of feelings and emotions/actions and ideas (Three shooting stars which are people, not too many, not too few. Because these shooting stars are people, they represent actions and ideas/feelings and emotions) leave. (come up really fast).
Then I look around and realize that this is happening everywhere, the bright fast lights, (people represented by shooting stars) are happening all over, leaving home (earth). These are unfamiliar feelings and emotions, actions and ideas (people) leaving! (The dreamer doesn’t know or recognize any of these people)
I notice other paths (the side roads) other ways to travel (cars). “We’re being taken over, pushed out (invaded)!” Pretty reflections and ways to see better (rainbow lights) are now everywhere.
We all know (The word “all” represents the people which symbolize feelings and emotions, actions and ideas familiar and unfamiliar) we are being taken over, pushed out (invaded).
Next scene: I’m in a place of boundaries (yard) with an old forgotten happiness (dull old red tricycle) beside me. No one else is here. The day seems normal. It’s only me in the place of setting boundaries (the yard, my home), the boundaries are (grass in the yard is) dead (yellow). I am strong (survivor), but not a lot of my feelings and emotions, actions and ideas have survived the process of being pushed out, taken over (invasion).
I stand alone with my dead boundaries and life (yellow grass and the yard), I know I have lost something. Trying to figure out what I have lost is a struggle. I know that something is gone and I can never get it back.
Summarized Dream Message:
The young woman senses that it’s a peaceful time, but not really. Everything is shadowy.
She seems to be in control of her path feeling happy and joyful with goodness and love, but at the same time experiences actions and ideas of irritation and frustration.
The path she was on made her sick, but she discovers she is over that part of the experience. She sees a pathway where everything looks so pretty. She’s in a place where she can see everything. She’s at the top of the pathway now.
Almost instantly, like the 3 shooting stars leaving home, the young woman feels her life is being invaded, her feelings and emotions, actions and ideas have been taken over. Yet as she looks around she is surrounded by pretty rainbow lights allowing her to see better, which reveal different pathways.
Somehow, some way, not remembering the process, the dreamer finds herself in a place of forgotten happiness, all alone at home, her memories gone. Her boundaries, her life, her safety, appear to be dead. There are very few feelings and emotions, actions and ideas left within her. Her strength is minimal. The happiness which has been forgotten can never be brought back.
Because of her dream message, the young woman is shown what she has been feeling for some time, that she is in a lonely, dying place. She knows she is strong, but the happiness she once had, the happiness she tries to remember enjoying, is dulled, forgotten and gone.
